Central Africa consists of 7 countries including Cameroon, Central African Republic, Republic of the Congo, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Equatorial Guinea, Gabon and Angola. As per ABiQ, its population will grow to 238.2 million by 2030 from 179.5 million.

Investment required

A growing population will require more healthcare facilities in the coming decade. ABiQ predicts the region will require 410 new hospitals with an additional 67,000 physicians over the next decade.

With construction costs varying across the Central African region, we use an average of $50 million per 200 bed hospital as the cost of construction. Which means Central Africa will require an investment of $20.5 billion to help develop the healthcare sector and support the growing population over the next 10 years.
