Healthcare infrastructure in Gabon

16 Aug 2020

Gabon, part of Central Africa, currently has a population of 5.5 million. Business intelligence experts ABiQ predicts the population will grow to 7 million by 2030.

With the increase in population, there will be a need for more infrastructure development, especially hospitals. ABiQ expects Gabon will require 10 new hospitals with 200 beds each over a period of 10 years. Over the same time, 300 new physicians will have to be trained to service these hospitals.

Investment required

With construction costs varying across the Central African region, we estimate $50 million per 200 bed hospital as the average cost of construction. Gabon will require $500 million to build these hospitals.
