Saudi Arabia will spend $2.3 Billion on Water Projects during 2021

Growing investment in water infrastructure in Saudi Arabia means spending during 2021 will increase to $2.3 Billion.

Saudi Arabia is investing heavily in water projects across the country. The rapid population growth and mega-projects such as Neom and Al Faisaliah City require investment in large scale infrastructure.

The Saudi Water Partnership Company is the largest developer of water projects in the GCC with more than $13 Billion of active projects. At the moment, there are more than $5.7 Billion of water projects under construction. The two largest projects are Rabigh 3 IWP and Jubail 3A IWP, both valued at $800 million each.

SEPCO is the largest contractor, with 20 per cent of the market share. Abengoa is in second place and Acciona S.A. in third place with 17 and 13 per cent respectively. The water sector in Saudi Arabia is in a healthy state with 70 per cent of the active projects still to be awarded.
