Key areas of Development in Nigeria

Key areas of Development in Nigeria

Nigeria is a middle-income country, Africa’s largest oil exporter and biggest economy. It has a population estimated at 208 million (World Bank). Unemployment is currently sitting at 27 percent, and poverty at 40 percent, i.e., 83 million people live in extreme poverty with less than $1.90 a day (AfDB). The unfulfilled Nigeria Vision 20:2020 (NV 20:2020) had identified three key areas of development that, if improved, would better the lives and well-being of Nigerians, namely the economy, governance, and sustainable development.

ABiQ will be hosting a webinar with a focus on Nigeria where we will discuss the key areas of development in Nigeria with the help of a panel of experts.

  • Prof. Helen Onyeaka – Associate Professor – University of Birmingham
  • Prof. Ikechi Agbugba – Professor – USOAD
  • David Nabena – Senior Economist – Nigeria Governors’ Forum

The webinar will take place on 25th August 2022 at 2 pm UAE time.
