South Africa Market Outlook


South Africa is the 25th largest country (world population review) and is located at the southernmost tip of Africa. It is bordered by Namibia, Botswana, Zimbabwe and Mozambique.

South Africa has nine provinces, the smallest of which is  Gauteng with the largest population, and largest by land area and the least populated is the Northern Cape.  The Northern Cape accounts for a third of South Africa's total land area.

SA has three cities serving as capitals: Pretoria (executive), Cape Town (legislative) and Bloemfontein (judicial). Located at the heart of the populous Gauteng, Johannesburg is the largest urban area and the centre of commerce. Located on the Indian Ocean, Durban boasts the largest container port in Africa and is a major industrial centre. East London and Port Elizabeth are on the country’s southeast coast and are vital commercial, industrial and cultural centres.
